Ok so I hate describing a piece of technology as "magical", it's like describing a religion as "optimised" , it doesn't make any bloody sense. Though i have to admit that there is something... "charming" about the iPad.

I know there are all the arguments in the world as to why this should be a terrible device, that it isn't as "fast" as other devices or that its a closed system. But if your worried about the GHz of the processor, or the RAM, then your missing the point of technology as a whole now.

The term care bear is thrown about quite a lot these days, unfortunately it has descended into the dark pit of negative words. I stand here among you PvPers and say, I am a care bear! In MMOs I've never really done anything remotely to do with PvP, aside from the occasional duel. I am much more of a PvEer, but I don't think this means I'm not intelligent, intuitive or sociable.

I guess it all started with my first MMO, Dark Age of Camelot. I bought this while waiting for Star Wars Galaxies to be released, I was impatient in my pre-teen years. I walked into GAME and saw the DAoC Collectors edition on the shelf, came with DAoC and it's first expansion The Shrouded Isles. So I ran home with it spent 3 hours installing, another 4 patching. I know you've all experienced the never ending wait for patching, but try to imagine what that is like when you're eleven years old.

Now this Blog is a little bit different, It’s just going to be me weeping over a long gone past. Now I’m sure you may be slightly perplexed as to what I mean. I’m pretty sure I can clear that up with three simple words. Star Wars Galaxies.

This post is really for those who share my grief for the loss of Pre-Combat Upgrade Star Wars Galaxies(Now on referred to as Pre-CU SWG, far easier to write). I remember the first time I played Star Wars Galaxies. It was magical. I had been waiting for the game for at least a year. I even bought the strategy guide to read before the Game was even out. It was about four years ago I think. When I was eleven, a magical age. When all things seem vibrant and meaningful.

So you’ve probably heard the announcement list from E3, sequels all of them. Now I personally don’t mind sequels, I know many people would argue that it shows lack of original thinking and blah blah blah, but I like sequels. Some of my favourite games ever were sequels; Half Life 2, UT2004 and TF2. Though the main difference I’ve noticed with all of these games that made them so good when they first game out is just how long it took them to come out. The shortest was UT99 to UT2004, which I hope you can tell that it was a 5 year gap between them. Whereas Modern Warfare 2 it’s only been 2 years since CoD4 and one year since CoD5. And of course look at L4D2, they’ve only just released the SDK for L4D and they’re releasing a second one, and what we’ve seen is very similar.
